Membership Qualification Criteria

Applicants for REALTOR® membership must hold and maintain a current, valid Missouri real estate broker’s or salesperson’s license or must be licensed or certified by an appropriate state regulatory agency to engage in the appraisal of real property and must be actively engaged in the real estate business.  (If you do not have a Missouri real estate license, click here to learn about licensing requirements and procedures.)  For a list of schools approved by the Missouri Real Estate Commission, click here.

Each office shall designate one REALTOR® Member who shall be responsible for all duties and obligations of Membership. The “Designated REALTOR®” must be a sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer or branch office manager acting on behalf of the firm’s principal(s) and must meet all other qualifications for REALTOR® membership. The “Designated REALTOR®” is referred to as the “Participant” of the Multiple Listing Service. All licensees affiliated with a Participant are required to join the Multiple Listing Service.
